ARTIST AS CRITIC

Students can understand and evaluate how the arts convey meaning through the utilization of Visual Thinking Strategies and in-class, cross-disciplinary, and cross-cultural critiques. Using written, verbal, and visual responses, students can also enhance their skills as meaning-makers through curation.

Students can serve as art critic by writing about an exhibition of work from a contemporary artist. Students should research several art journals and critics to gain insight on the process.
