While demonstrating expertise in a variety of media and concepts, students should develop artistic ideas and strategies for conceptualizing and planning projects. Beyond technical knowledge, students should create portfolios that address potential as artists, researchers, teachers, and community leaders. 

Involvement in the community is essential to creating art that is affective, accessible, and meaningful.
