Art in the Park 2026

Begun in 1959, Art in the Park is the oldest and largest fine arts festival in mid-Missouri. The festival features artists from across the United States, displaying a variety of media including painting, drawing, photography, pottery, jewelry, fibers, sculpture, wood, and glass. The 2026 event took place in Columbia, Missouri, June 6-7.

Each year, the Columbia Art League hosts a call for proposals for art installations at the festival. The 2026 theme was “The Water’s Edge.” My work, Golden Solstice, was selected with four other art installations to echo the theme throughout the park.

Golden Solstice is a vibrant, immersive sculptural installation inspired by summers spent at the lake. Drawing from Missouri’s riversides, the work features wildflowers, birds, fish, a butterfly, and gentle lake waves. The piece transforms the festival landscape into a playful, graphic environment visitors can interact with and commemorate their attendance at the fest with a photo.
