True/False Film Festival Artist Residency
True/False Film Festival selected eight artists to participate in the 2025 artist residency. T/F has a long history of creating environments where visual artists can work together with the community of Columbia, Missouri to transform venues throughout the town in a celebration of artists, films, and music.
Now in its second year, the artist residency program offers a six-week virtual program dedicated to providing a platform for cultural exchange, networking, and creative exploration, allowing installation artists to connect and collaborate regardless of geographical constraints. This residency culminates in an in person exhibition of art installations during the 2025 True/False Film Festival.
My work selected for the installation, Circatidal Rhythm, is a construction that incorporates forms that are both stationary and moving, rigid and flowing—each component dependent on and balanced with one another. Mimicking the timed rhythm driven by the ebb and flow of the tides, the work speaks to how living things have evolved to thrive in dynamic environments and find order through routines. The installation symbolically demonstrates the forces beyond ourselves and the underlying rhythms that shape our lives.
